Changes in our Editorial Board

The International Journal on Media Management (JMM) welcomes new Editorial Board members. Starting with 2011 issues, five new internationally renowned scholars have been invited to join our Editorial Board:


German Arango Forero, University Austral, Argentina

Germán Arango combines an academic career with television journalism. He is the current sports anchor of Noticias Uno, a national weekend newscast on weekends. He is also current general secretary of LAMMA (Latin American Media Management Association) and a doctoral candidate in Communication Science from Universidad Austral, Buenos Aires, Argentina. His main research focus is media audiences fragmentation, audiences measurement, media economics and media industries in developing economies. He hosted the IX World Media Economics and Management Conference in Bogotá, Colombia in June 2010.


Hsiang Iris Chyi, University of Texas at Austin, USA

Hsiang Iris Chyi, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. Specializing in the economics of new media and online journalism, she leads the Media Economics Research Group, which conducts research to demystify the (often misunderstood) economic nature of online content with reality-based data and logical reasoning. Her work has been recognized by the 2010 University of Texas at Austin College of Communication Faculty Research Award and she has published in major journalism, media management and economics journals.

Ghislain Deslandes, ESCP Europe, Paris, France

Ghislain Deslandes is an Associate Professor at ESCP Europe (Paris Campus) and Academic Director of the Specialized Master programme in Media Management since 1997. At ESCP Europe, his teaching activity focuses on media and cultural management, organizational identity management and business ethics. His most recent research has been published in Expansion Management Review, Global Media Journal and Philosophy of Management. He is the author of Le Management des Médias (Collection Repères, Editions La découverte, 2008).


Marco Gambaro, Universita degli Studi di Milano, Italy

Marco Gambaro is associate professor of Media Economics and Economics of Communication at the Department of Economics and Business at the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy). His research interest include: the television industry, the Italian and international film industry, competition in the communication markets, the economics of information and advertising. He is a management consultant to many Italian and international communication companies on strategic options in multimedia convergence, organizational change and new business processes and has been an expert consultant on communication industries for several public institution including the European Commission, the Italian Government, the Italian Media Authority, and the Italian Antitrust Authority


Dr. Min Hang, Tsinghua University, China

Dr. Min Hang is an associate professor of Media Management and Economics at the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University, China. She is the director of the East Asia Institute of Media Management and Transformation Center Centre (MMTC-EA) of Jönköping University(MMTC). Her research interests include new media management, cross-national media management, strategy in the media companies and market differences in the media industries. She is the author of a number of books and book chapters, journal articles and conference papers in this area.
